What is Hypnotherapy?

It’s being able to flip a switch in your mind.

Hypnotherapy is a talking therapy. Using a deep voice guided relaxation, hypnotherapy will put you into a deep dreamlike state. It is super relaxing and means that we can speak to your subconscious. Your subconscious is commanding your ship, in a nutshell. When we speak to the subconscious we can give it positive suggestions for it to implement as though they had always been there.

Working together we really can tailor each session to exactly what you need and want. In the first session there are lots of questions to cover but I find these are most successfully completed through relaxed conversation.

How Do I get started?

First of all is the twenty minute phone call for a consultation.

What would you like hypnotherapy for? Do you have a particular goal in mind? Are you pushed for time on the issue? Maybe you’re the best man and are particularly uncomfortable when speaking in public and the wedding is four weeks away! That sort of thing.

The first session

which is for contracts and information gathering. This is to help me construct the hypnosis for your further sessions but also helps us really get to the root of the issue you have. At the end of the first session we’ll do some hypnotherapy purely for relaxation which helps to ward off any fear of “going under” for next time so you can approach the next session without apprehension.

You can sit upright if you prefer, or you can lay down. It’s entirely your choice, whatever is the most comfortable for you. From then on it’s just me speaking to you. First there is guided relaxation, then I deepen your relaxation to a safe place of your imagining where I can make the suggestions before a reorientation where you “wake”. Take your time to become fully aware and then I’ll ask for some feedback on the session.

How you’re progressing

Each week we’ll review your progress, I’ll ask you for feedback and make adjustments where they’re needed. Lots of times after the first few sessions people realise that there’s a bit more to their issue than they thought but it’s no problem for us to adjust the treatment plan as we go along. Communication is key and we work on this together.
